Course description
Rubrics are valuable for evaluating student work at all grade levels. While they are often used solely as a tool for an instructor to provide feedback to students, the power of rubrics extends beyond this single application. In this course, the use of rubrics as an evaluation tool will be expanded and viewed through three unique lenses: (1) Teachers providing feedback to students, (2) Students providing peer feedback to one another, and (3) Students using rubrics as a self-evaluation tool. Discussion topics for each category will include best practices for use, qualities of effective feedback, and rubric examples. Using one of the three-tiered lenses to design an effective rubric, you will leave this course with an evaluation tool that can be implemented immediately with your own students.
