Designing Authentic ELA Tasks 

This mini-course will explore how to promote greater engagement, learner independence, and deeper learning through authentic learning tasks for the 3-5 ELA classroom. Practice strategies for creating engaging tasks connected with real-world applications by drawing connections to students’ lives and communities, careers, current events, and STEM concepts. With authentic tasks, you will guide your students to develop the skills necessary to synthesize a variety of sources, analyze varying perspectives, and present their knowledge in a variety of formats.
